GRATEFUL SERIES: SIMPLE

Hi guys!

As I am writing this, I just planned something for my mom's birthday next month. It just a simple celebration which I plan to cook her a meal and some present.

Suddenly, this make me thought about being simple and yet we still feel content with what we have.

Last few days, I saw at instagram, people that we called "instafamous" was holding their birthday party and is was so extravagant I can say, since they at least makes a party and invite their friends and relatives, with a big cake, balloons and party theme. If we look at the differences between their birthday party and my planning for my mom, I can say that my planning seems so shabby.

I am not blaming them since they use their own money to spent. They can afford it so that's why they hold the party.

Actually.

In a little corner of my heart, I wish I can hold the big party for my mom too. I wish I can afford too. Who doesn't want to makes their mom happy right? Everyone loves to see someone they love feels happy.

But then. the question is, will my mom love if I hold a big birthday party for her?

That moment I questioned this, I realized,

This is the problem with social media. Everything that others have, we want it for ourselves too when we know ourselves cannot afford it. It doesn't mean you cannot dream to have one, but at the present, we should look at ourselves too. What makes us happy? What will makes our loved ones happy? Is it important to follow others?

Feeling content with what we have is the lesson I learned.
Even a flower can makes people happy.
Even an ice cream can brush off the heat.
Even with public phone, people can make calls.
Even with mineral water we can make our thirsty gone.

Alhamdulillah that I realized about this important value and I come out with a simple plan yet I am sure that will makes my mom happy. I am still consider to give her a wish card which is she can use it anytime and anywhere and I will work as her genie for that one whole day!

Love,
Keena
